Who is Rich? The Parable of the Omelet

The following are a few Mesholim -- parables and fables with a message -- which were culled from various of Nechoma's shiurim. They form part of a long list of such Mesholim which were to have been made into a book... Ed.
I heard many of the following parables, fables, and stories in my youth from Chabad Rabbis in America. Some of them were originally communicated in the framework of "pegishot" (informative, often "hands-on" seminars for students, introducing them to Yiddishkeit), or in various institutions and seminaries designed for ba'alei teshuvah, or at Shabbatonim ("hands-on" Shabbos experiences for younger students and others). Most of these Mesholim are not well known in Israel, and since they are extremely useful to me in explaining concepts in Yiddishkeit to all sorts of groups, from visitors who have come to Kfar Chabad for Shabbos, to women's groups, I decided to publicize them, so that my sisters will be able to make use of them.
