This volume contains a free translation of Sichos delivered by the Lubavitcher Rebbe Shlita in the Farbrengens held from Sivan-Elul, 5742, with excerpts from every Farbrengen held during that period. It completes the year of 5742 (comprising volumes 11, 12, 13 and 14), and it is the fourteenth volume published by Sichos In English.
The translations are structured to appeal to an English speaking reader who is somewhat familiar with the teachings of Chassidus. The Sichos are not adopted or altered in context, but are presented, with slight changes, in the same form and thought style in which they were originally said. Great effort has been made to ensure the accuracy of the translations; however, they carry no official authority. As in all translations, the possibility of inadvertent error exists.
A major event of this period was the “Peace for the Galilee” campaign mounted by Eretz Yisrael to remove the terrorist threat from its borders. The Rebbe Shlita, spoke about the campaign on different occasions, and urged that it be brought to its full conclusion. In addition to translating excerpts of the Rebbe’s addresses on this subject, we have, as usual in regard to such major issues, presented the Rebbe’s thoughts in essay form, departing from the more literal translation of most of the Sichos. The essay is presented at the end of the volume, on pp. 270-287.
