Birth of a TzaddikThe Shemitah Year

"It is certain," my revered father (the Rebbe Rashab) once said, "that on the day of their yahrzeit the Rebbeim of past generations arouse Divine compassion for all chassidim, as well as for their wives and children. However, this is only an arousal of a general nature. But those chassidim who on that day set aside a time for study and for a chassidic farbrengen, may be considered to have handed a pidyon nefesh to the Rebbe whose yahrzeit is then being observed."[772]
