The Sabbath Table Hymns: ZemirosMorning Service for Shabbos: Shacharis

Cf. Siddur, p. 118ff.

One does not say ribono shel olam hareini at the bedtime Shema on Friday night.[234] One says hashkiveinu only until sukas shlomecha. Vidui (the confessional prayer) is omitted, as is Psalm 51 (lamnatzeiach b'vo).

The above also applies to festivals,[235] as well as to Rosh HaShanah and Yom Kippur.

Notes:

  1. (Back to text) HaYom Yom, p. 32. This differs from the ruling in Shaar HaKollel 36:2; see there at length.

  2. (Back to text) [On Chol HaMoed, the Intermediate Days of the Festivals, the only passage omitted is Vidui.]
