No. 610

This letter was sent to a chassid whose name was not released.
B"H, 22 Iyar, 5710

Greetings and blessings,

In response to what you wrote:

May it be G-d's will that the blessings which my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe, hk"m, granted you be fulfilled completely both materially and spiritually. {Especially, may you establish yourself in an appropriate manner both materially and spiritually in all particulars in the near future.}

[May you merit the fulfillment of the charge:] "From the age of 25 and upwards, he shall come to serve in the forces" (Behaalos'cha 8:24), according to the interpretation of the term "forces" in the maamar of 13 Shvat[457] at the conclusion of the subsection beginning: "And you shall make a sanctuary for Me."

Note the gloss of the Kessef Mishneh to Hilchos Klei HaMikdash 3:7.[458]

With blessings that you establish yourself successfully and for all forms of good,

Rabbi Menachem Schneerson

Notes:

  1. (Back to text) [Sefer HaMaamarim 5710, p. 125, where three different interpretations are given for that term.]

  2. (Back to text) [There the Kessef Mishneh writes that although it may take five years for a priest to become expert at the particular task which he performs, he is fit to begin service in the Beis HaMikdash at age 25.]
