No. 564

This letter was addressed to R. Y. Meisel.
B"H, the thirtieth day after the passing
of my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe, hk"m

Greetings and blessings,

I express gratitude in the name of the entire family and in my own name for your letter of 19 Shvat and your words of comfort and closeness.

You are certainly aware of the saying of my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe, hk"m,[250] "Jewish material concerns are spiritual." And the Alter Rebbe writes ([Tanya,] Iggeres HaKodesh, the explanation of Epistle 27),[251] drawing down the spiritual influence [of a tzaddik] is through great love. We can hope that through all of us standing together in true closeness and great love we can draw down the power for us to give substance to all the matters that my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe, hk"m, desired to be expressed through our [efforts].

I conclude with the blessing that you "will still be fruitful in a (ripe) old age"[252] and that we all merit the true and complete Redemption, led by Mashiach.

Rabbi Menachem Schneerson
