No. 557

This letter was sent to R. Nissan Nemenov, the spiritual mentor of the Lubavitch yeshivah in Brunoy, France.
B"H, 9 Shvat, 5710

Greetings and blessings,

Your letter was received. Enclosed is a kuntres[197] that was just published. Undoubtedly, as with the previous ones, you will share it with people at large.

Note the letter from my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe Shlita, published as an addendum.[198]

You will undoubtedly acknowledge receipt of the kuntres. Enclosed is a receipt for [the money sent] for the verses for Atah Horeisa.[199]

With wishes for all forms of everlasting good and with greetings to all those who seek our welfare.

M. Schneerson

I do not want to delay sending the kuntres until I complete my answer [to your question] concerning the maamar entitled Zeh HaYom.[200] Without committing myself with a vow, [I hope] to answer in the coming week.

For a particular reason, a receipt was sent [by the committee] for maamad for $10 (that you lent my revered mother at that time;[201] I paid the sum here;) with R. Naftuli Dulitzki who will pass through Paris.

  3. (Back to text) [The right to recite — or honor the Rebbe with the recitation — of the verses of Atah Horeisa on Simchas Torahis customarily sold and the proceeds given as a donation to Merkos L'Inyonei Chinuch.]
