This letter was addressed to R. Shlomo Chayim Kesselman, one of the spiritual mentors of the Lubavitch community in Paris.B"H, 15 Adar, 5709Greetings and blessings,
My letter and the kuntreis for Purim has no doubt reached you. [Please] acknowledge your receipt of them.
I will again ask the Committee for Nifneh[297] for receipts....[298] Together you will all no doubt plan a program [regarding nifneh] so that there will not be a reduction in your work because of the journeys of those who already moved away from your community or will move in the near future.[299]
Before concluding, I will repeat [my statement in my previous letter[300]]: my intent in [that] long letter15 was not focused on you as an individual, but rather on the entire collective together. In this aspect, the Divine service associated with nifneh is distinct from other matters. To cite a parallel: With regard to the essential life-energy, all are equal. Individual distinction comes only regarding the extension [of that energy]. This is not the place for further elaboration on the matter.
