This letter was sent to Rabbi Shneur Zalman Duchman, one of the active members of the chassidic brotherhood.
B"H, 9 Shvat, 5709

Greetings and blessings,

I acknowledge receipt of your ninth letter together with the copy of the letter from my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe Shlita, to you. Thank you. It is my hope that you will continue writing your memoirs, because you will undoubtedly remember some other facts and stories. With thanks in advance.

Under separate cover, we have sent you the biography of the Rebbe Maharash and the Mavo LeKriah.[161] You will no doubt share them and [the material sent] previously with people at large. Enclosed is a kuntreis that was just published.

With greetings to all those who seek our welfare,

Rabbi Menachem Schneerson
