No. 226

This letter was addressed to the directorate of the International Society for [the Recitation of] Tehillim in Jerusalem and in particular to R. Shlomo Yehudah Leib Aliazarof, the head of that group.
B"H, 11 Nissan, 5706

Greetings and blessings,

Your letter reached me after great delay. To my great chagrin, the financial situation here is very pressing, as I am certain you know. There is no possibility of making another appeal. In my humble opinion, the proper path is that you should write letters directly to the donors here using the addresses that you have from the Collel and the like.

With blessings for a kosher and happy Pesach,

Rabbi Menachem Schneerson
Executive Director

P.S. Thank you for your efforts to attain a certificate on behalf of my esteemed mother. I am sure you will continue [these efforts] in the hope of bringing about a good resolution [of the matter]. For according to the reports here, there is hope that she will be given an exit visa from [Russia] since we are speaking about a woman aged 70; may she [continue to enjoy] long and good years. [As our Sages comment,][407] "When a person begins a mitzvah, we tell him to finish." You will merit long, good, and pleasant years, as [alluded to] in our Sages' statements. I offer you thanks in advance for informing me with regard to the progress in this.
