Greetings and blessings,

...Thank you for bringing to my attention the text Mishnas Yoel. I found it in the library of my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe Shlita.

...You should ask him about the particulars concerning the suggestion to publish the maamarim my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe Shlita, delivered in America, as a present to my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe Shlita.[176] If you would be so gracious as to notify me of your decision. I already explained... that participation should be [only voluntary], without any compulsion or pressure whatsoever. For if not, this would be the opposite of the [desired] intent.

Certainly, you saw Kovetz Lubavitch, Vol. IV, which contains a response to the question you had asked previously concerning an explanation of the practice of studying Mishnayos by heart according to the revealed dimension of Torah law.[177] It includes additional notes and supplements besides what I had written to you previously.

A further note can be added, according to Chassidus, with regard to the concept that Mashiach will judge by the sense of smell, according to the explanations in Likkutei Torah, the maamar entitled Levaer Inyan HaMasaos (see also the Introduction to Biurei HaZohar). There it is explained that the prophecy:[178] "[He shall not judge] according to what his eyes see or his ears hear," refers to Chochmah and Binah [which relate to] eating and drinking. Smell, by contrast, relates to the wind and the air.

Note also, by the way, the statement of the Zohar, Vol. II, p. 78a quoted in Likkutei Torah, loc. cit., that King Shlomo also judged without witnesses or the administration of warnings. This concept is also stated in the beginning of Shir HaShirim Rabbah and in the Talmud (Rosh HaShanah 21b), although the Targum does not appear to accept his view.
