No. 174

This letter was addressed to R. Yaakov Katz, an active member of the Jewish community in Chicago and one of the primary supporters of Lubavitch in its early years in the U.S.
B"H, the holiday of Redemption, Yud-Tes Kislev, 5705

Greetings and blessings,

My revered father-in-law, the Rebbe Shlita, is improving, thank G-d. May G-d grant him a complete and speedy recovery. May G-d grant him a complete recovery in the very near future and may [we merit] the fulfillment [of the assurance] (Tehillim 55:19): "He redeemed my soul in peace... because the many were with me."[141]

I temporarily withheld [responding to] your letter requesting to be sent a copy of the sichos from Sukkos. Until the present, I was unable to fulfill your request because I did not receive the complete copy of the talks until yesterday. I am sending you my copy (for you to read or copy, as you desire). I ask you to return it to me as soon as possible.

I conclude with a blessing for the holiday of redemption - that speedily, in our days, we merit the complete redemption and my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe Shlita, will lead us to greet Mashiach; "Immediately to teshuvah; immediately to Redemption,"

Rabbi Menachem Schneerson
Executive Director
