No. 141*

This letter was sent to Rabbi Eliezer Karasik, one of the communal leaders of the Lubavitch community in Eretz Yisrael.
B"H, Purim, 5704
Greetings and blessings,

  1. You have certainly received our letter from Shvat 9 [1] and the communal letter regarding the dissemination of printed matter. We are waiting [to hear] what is being done with regard to this.

  2. Since all the texts of the Tanya which were in our possession have been exhausted, and there are, BE"H, many who desire to study [this text], we would appreciate if you could try to send approximately 100 of the Tanyas which were printed in Eretz Yisrael. Also, notify us of the price.

  3. One of our friends asked us to find someone who could inspire a young man [who is now living] in Eretz Yisrael. His name is ..... Previously, it appears that he studied and followed the straight path, but afterwards deviated from it. Rabbi .... is the great-grandfather of this young man, and it is possible to clarify all the necessary details concerning the young man from him.

Therefore we are asking you to convey this mission on someone who is fit for it and who will commit himself to saving [this youth's] soul and arousing him to [the observance of] the Torah and its mitzvos.

We would be grateful if you would let us know the outcome of this matter.

With the blessing, "Immediately to teshuvah, immediately to Redemption,"

M. Schneerson
Chairman of the Executive Committee
